Our focus areas support the wellness of women and adolescent girls, maternal health, and mental health. Since 1934, JLD has been a positive force in DeKalb County. We have identified and met many needs in the community. Our legacy includes many well-known non-profits and charitable organizations, such as the Callanwolde Guild, Friends of Fernbank, DeKalb Rape Crisis Center, and International Women
's House. In 1980, we saved the historic Mary Gay House in Decatur from destruction and it now serves as our League headquarters, as well as a beautiful rental facility. We believe that volunteer service is an essential part of responsible, engaged citizenship. Our member are trained to create significant and lasting chance in the community through effective action and leadership. We can build a community program from its inception; coordinate an event or other program; and serve other organizations in leadership capacities, including service on boards of directors. Our Community Focus:
