I am so proud of my friend and neighbor, Anthony J Rodriguez for continuing to step up for our town! He has shown up time and time again to advocate for our schools and students. He’s thoughtful, engaged, and committed to making a difference in Dedham.
I hope you’ll join me in voting for him tomorrow, April 12th!
One more day! I think everyone in town can agree: this election season has been exhausting! Between the regular election tomorrow and February’s special election, it seems like we’ve been in campaign season forever.
I hope, despite election fatigue and other distractions, voters will base their decisions on what each candidate says and does. I have used my campaign to focus on students, teachers, and Dedham voters. Dedham is facing serious challenges in the near future, including budget cuts and creating a community-driven plan to replace and repair our aging buildings. These decisions will impact not only our students but the entire community.
Getting through these challenges will require hard work and collaboration. It will require active participation - showing up to meetings, engaging in dialogue with people across the community, and listening to new perspectives.
It means bringing new voices to the table, so decisions aren’t just made by ~25% of voters.
Finally, it will require a tremendous amount of trust-building. We need leaders who are dedicated to building trust, who act with integrity, who respect voters and look for productive ways forward rather than focusing on past conflicts.
I pledge to be that kind of leader. I am ready to show up, roll up my sleeves, and actively contribute to creative, fiscally responsible solutions that serve our students, teachers, and community in the best possible way.
