Friendly FYI Regarding Disabled Veteran Plates/Registrations

We are always honored to assist our veterans and are grateful for their service. We also want to help clear up some confusion regarding Disabled Veteran plates and the no-fee registration benefit under New Hampshire motor vehicle law.

Under New Hampshire law, a qualifying Disabled Veteran may receive a no-fee registration benefit for the initial qualifying set of Disabled Veteran plates for a qualifying vehicle. This benefit is limited and does not allow for multiple no-fee registrations or additional free plates for other vehicles.

If a vehicle is being changed, replaced, transferred, or if an additional vehicle is being registered, our office must process the transaction according to NH DMV requirements, and any applicable State and municipal fees may apply. A transfer does not create a second no-fee registration or an additional free plate benefit.

2026 Dog Licensing Reminder and Civil Forfeiture Deadline!!!

At their Monday, June 16, 2026 meeting, the Board of Selectmen signed the 2026 Dog Warrant.

Under New Hampshire law, all dogs 4 months of age or older who have received their rabies vaccination must be licensed annually in the town or city where they are kept. A current rabies vaccination must also be on file.

Please license your dog by July 30, 2026 to avoid the $25.00 civil forfeiture fine.

You can license your dog three ways:

In person at the Town Clerk’s Office

Online for renewals only if your dog was licensed last year:

Simply sign up with your personal and/or business name, and you’ll be notified if a document is recorded in the Registry’s Office with a matching name.

This service does not prevent fraud, but it can provide an early warning so property owners can take action quickly if something suspicious is recorded.

With mortgage fraud and identity theft on the rise, this is an easy step residents can take to help protect themselves.
