Things are a bit slow around the state during the week of Spring Break, but that is not stopping me from connecting with young lawyers. The Rio Grande Valley attorneys were a remarkable bunch. From murder trials to severe personal injury cases, they are doing it all. I loved learning about the Hildago County DA’s and PD’s offices working together to help Veterans. Thanks to Austin Stevenson for lining up and transporting me across Hildago and Cameron counties. Thank you, Jones Galligan Key & Lozano (JGKL), for visiting with me yesterday. This firm has a longstanding legacy and excellent reputation. Great people and great work being done by these attorneys. Thank you, Lauren Renee Sepulveda for taking the time to see me.

Being raised as a border kid, I have a lot of heart for our border communities and some big plans to better assist the Young Lawyers Associations in these areas if elected President-Elect of TYLA.

A little over one week ago, my Fort Bend community came together to show their support and excitement for my TYLA President-Elect campaign. Here is a little peek into how it looks when we gather.

If elected, I would be the first TYLA president out of Fort Bend County. However, I doubt I will be the last—too much talent in the pipeline. Our young lawyers are phenomenal, and the mentor members and leaders in the community are engaged and supportive. I am proud to represent Fort Bend County in this race and hope you see the love that those who know me best have for me and the trust they have put in me to lead this Association.

I am headed to Lubbock tonight. We had a great campaign kick-off lunch yesterday. I spent the day at drill in Dallas. I'm about to fly out to meet some Red Raiders in the LBK for the 20th Annnual Scholarship Gala. Let’s Go!!!

Grateful for the opportunity to meet talented young lawyers in Texas through the Corpus Christi Young Lawyers Association. I was able to reconnect with John Schroeder and Mario Olivarez, fellow Red Raider alums. It is always a pleasure to see my friend and hype man Matthew S. Manning.
