Today our Commissioners Court approved adding the Veteran’s Service Program as an option for jurors who wish to donate their jury service payment.

I am so happy with this development as it carries special meaning for me due to my father being a veteran himself and my belief that our veterans deserve as many opportunities as we can give them in order to show our appreciation for their sacrifice and service. I know my Dad would be so proud! 💙🙏🏽😇

This had been one of my main goals if elected into office, as I had mentioned in a recent 830Times article. However, I could not be more pleased that we did not have to wait and our veterans can soon start to take advantage of this opportunity.

I congratulate all involved and our entire community on this great accomplishment. A win for our veterans is a win for our community!

I submitted responses to 830 Times earlier this month to be included in their candidate spotlight. Unfortunately, my information was not posted, so I wanted to share my answers here directly with you.

Question #1: What are your qualifications to serve in the office you are seeking?

I bring over 15 years of public service experience, including 11 years in the District Clerk’s Office, where I worked my way up from part-time clerk to Chief Deputy. For the past four years, I’ve worked in the County Auditor’s Office, gaining valuable experience in accountability, compliance, and correcting financial and reporting issues. This combined background gives me the knowledge and perspective needed to make meaningful improvements to better serve our community.

Question #2: What is your vision for this office for the next four years?

My vision is a District Clerk’s Office that operates with accuracy, accountability, and dependable service. I want to improve office procedures, strengthen internal controls, and ensure timely, accurate reporting so judges, attorneys, and the public can rely on this office with confidence. I believe in proactive problem solving, treating everyone with respect, and maintaining professional standards that reflect the importance of this role. I also want to enhance the jury donation program by adding the Veterans Service Program as an option, giving jurors a meaningful way to honor and support our local veterans. My goal is to restore trust, support the court system efficiently, and ensure every record, report, and financial account is handled correctly for the people we serve.

I believe voters deserve access to information about every candidate, and I’m always happy to answer any additional questions.

Today was truly such an emotional and humbling experience for me.

Walking in to vote and seeing my name on the ballot filled my heart with gratitude and honor.

I’m not a politician. I’m simply a member of this community who cares, who has worked hard, and who believes in serving others the right way.
Having worked in the District Clerk’s Office and now in the County Auditor’s Office, I’ve dedicated years to learning, growing, and doing the work behind the scenes. I am running for District Clerk because I understand the vital role this office plays as the backbone of our justice system. As the custodian of the court, the District Clerk is responsible for managing all legal records, coordinating jury service, and ensuring that our court proceedings are handled with the highest level of accuracy and integrity.
Above it all, one thing that has mattered the most to me is treating everyone with respect. Every individual who walks through those doors deserves professionalism, fairness, and kindness.

To stand here with the opportunity to serve in this way is something I will always be thankful for ❤️
