Del Rio and Val Verde County,

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for your support, your encouragement, your prayers, your kindness, and your belief in me throughout this journey.

While the results were not in my favor, I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to run for Val Verde County Clerk and to connect with so many of you along the way. This experience has been humbling in the best way. The conversations, the handshakes, the messages, and the trust so many of you placed in me will stay with me forever.

To everyone who showed up to vote, thank you. Your participation matters. To those who cast their vote for me and trusted me to represent you, I am deeply honored. Your confidence in me means more than I can fully express.

This was my first time running for elected office, and although we fell short this time, I am not discouraged. I am motivated. I have learned so much, and this experience has only strengthened my love for our community and my desire to serve it. Public service takes many forms, and I will continue to give my very best as an educator and as a proud member of this community.

Congratulations to Ms. Chapoy. I sincerely wish her great success as she serves Val Verde County.

Del Rio is home. Val Verde County is home. And my commitment to our community does not end here.

Thanks & Gig ‘em!
Adriana

Howdy!

By way of introduction, my name is Adriana Nicole Acosta.
I am a Del Rio native and proud to call Del Rio home. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelors of Science in Agricultural Science. I also received a Masters of Arts in Special Education from the University of Texas Permian Basin.

At the age of 18, I packed up my belongings and moved to Commerce, Texas where I studied for a year at Texas A&M University-Commerce. I then moved to College Station, Texas where I continued my studies. Upon graduation, I was given an opportunity to begin my teaching career in a small community outside of Midland named Greenwood. I spent 2 amazing years learning from veteran teachers. I decided to spread my wings again and relocated to Austin, where I was a special education teacher at a small classical charter school for a year.

After living in many cities in my early adult life, it feels wonderful to say I will be calling Del Rio my permanent home once again.

I have decided to run for Val Verde County Clerk as a way to broaden my horizons and discover a new route to my career. As I moved around a lot, I didn’t understand local government and how much county offices affect our daily lives. However, now rooted back into this community over the past 4 years, I have learned how important these positions and voting are. I know exactly what it feels like to be disconnected from the process. I plan to use my experience, knowledge, and newfound passion to make voting and local government easier to understand and more accessible.

I appreciate all the support I’ve been shown and look forward to your vote in March.

Thanks & Gig ‘Em!

I’m proud to announce my candidacy for Val Verde County Clerk! 🇺🇸

As a former student of Texas A&M University, a graduate with a Masters of Special Education from of the University of Texas Permian Basin, and a current special education teacher with SFDRCISD, I’ve dedicated my career to serving others with compassion, integrity, and accountability. My work has taught me the importance of listening, attention to detail, and advocating for those whose voices deserve to be heard.

I’m running because I believe our county offices should reflect the same principles we teach in our classrooms — honesty, efficiency, and service to others. I’m ready to bring that same dedication to the County Clerk’s office and to the people of Val Verde County.

I would be honored to earn your support on this journey. Together, we can make a positive difference for our community. 💙
