The Lapham Peak Fright Hike is an annual Delafield tradition that dates back to 1997. Each year local High School volunteers lurk amongst the dark forest, scaring all those who dare to cross their path. Locals look forward to gathering their neighbors for a group hike through the haunted trails to help support their beautiful Park and Community. The Fright Hike is Lapham’s largest fundraiser with record attendance in recent years. Proceeds from the event assist The Lapham Peak Friends Group in maintaining the cross-country ski trails along with projects in the Park. Hikers, skiers, runners, photographers, bird-watchers, and families enjoy Lapham Peak’s rolling hills, prairies, ponds, picnic areas, shelters, butterfly garden, Hausmann Nature Center, Summer Stage, and 45-foot observation tower with gorgeous views of Waukesha county.
