Today is National Purple Heart Day.

On August 7, 1782, General George Washington in Newburgh, New York, created the first award issued to armed forces of the U.S.

It was called the Badge of Military Merit. The award was renamed the Purple Heart in 1932. The purple color on the medal stands for the blood of those wounded or killed in action against enemies of our country.

Enough is enough! Yesterday, I stood with local leaders and residents in to say NO to Kathy Hochul’s unelected ORES bureaucrats rubber-stamping a massive 1,200-acre industrial solar and battery project. Sullivan County deserves a voice in what happens in its own backyard!

Kathy Hochul is the worst Governor in America. Hochul and Albany Democrats created ORES to bulldoze local control and force these massive projects into rural Upstate communities whether we want them or not. It’s time to DEFUND ORES, protect our farmland, and put the power back where it belongs, with the PEOPLE!
