At H&S, we’re just watching YouTube tutorials and winging it—kidding, of course.

The reality is, we’re not the kind of company that pulls names off a roster, sends crews out, and then disappears into the truck for the rest of the event. When the work gets tough, we’re out there with our people—boots on the ground, hands in the dirt.

We lead by example because respect is earned, not assigned. H&S is, and always will be, a linemen-owned and operated company. Once a lineman, always a lineman. That commitment doesn’t change—no matter how big we get.

I know most of you have already heard—Power Pro’s lost one of their own this week. Clayton Long passed unexpectedly at just 36 years old, leaving behind his wife and 3-year-old son.

It’s hard to find the right words in times like this. But if you’ve ever worked storms or long weeks away from home, you know how close this brotherhood runs. We look out for each other—even when the job’s over.

This past week has been a whirlwind of emotion and reflection. First and foremost, our hearts go out to the families—especially those in Michigan—still without power, and to all across the country who have suffered the loss of their homes or businesses. You remain in our thoughts.

To the incredible men and women who left their families behind to respond and restore power: your dedication does not go unnoticed. Tragically, some will not return home—a loss that weighs heavily on us all.

Few truly understand the nature of this work. Linemen are the unsung first responders—putting their lives on the line with every step, every lift, and every decision. It is one of the most dangerous, yet deeply rewarding, professions in the world.

There’s nothing quite like seeing a darkened community light up after days in the cold and silence. It's a moment few experience, but for those of us in this field, it's what drives us.

To all our linemen: we are profoundly grateful for your sacrifice, your resilience, and your unwavering commitment to serving others.
