🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️ Deaf Kids Can Be Superheroes Too! 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

In partnership with Dr. Wainscott and Ms. Levell from Texas Woman’s University, Mr. Wainscott’s class has been exploring the idea that superheroes come in all kinds of forms—and Deaf kids can be superheroes, too! 💪✨

Students have been working together to create a story about a superhero. Then, they had the opportunity to put their own creativity to work by writing their very own superhero stories and sharing them with their peers. 📖📝

🍂ASL Community Classes are back this fall! 🍂

We’re excited to welcome our community to another season of American Sign Language classes, taught by two wonderful members of our Denton RDSPD team! 💙

👧 Children ages 5 & up: Ms. Valdez
👩‍🦰 Adults: Mrs. Frye

📅 Mondays, September 14–November 16
⏰ 5:30–6:30 PM
📍 PDC Redbud, 1212 Bolivar St., Denton
🚫 No class October 12

**A note for families: Children and adults will participate in their respective ASL groups in the same room at the same time. This is a community ASL class—not a childcare or drop-off program—so children must remain with their parent/guardian throughout the class.

Whether you’re brand new to ASL or looking to build your skills, all are welcome! 🤟
