Ready to Work is well, working—all across our region. 💪

Through more than 25 contracts, our outdoor crews support counties, municipalities, businesses, and community partners throughout the Denver metro area.

From sanitation support, landscaping, and creek mitigation to helping community events run smoothly, Ready to Work trainees can be found everywhere from open spaces and animal shelters to county fairs.

Every contract helps our partners get important work done while providing trainees with paid employment, hands-on experience, and a strong employment history.

Good work. Stronger communities. New possibilities.

Bridge House is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Englewood Mayor Pro Tem and Change the Trend founder Joe Anderson. Joe was a passionate advocate for people experiencing homelessness and a valued supporter of Englewood's Ready to Work program house and Tri-Cities Homeless Navigation Center from its earliest days. We were honored to have him with us at both the project’s groundbreaking and ribbon cutting—milestones that reflected his commitment to creating meaningful solutions for his community.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Joe’s family, friends, colleagues and the entire Englewood community. His leadership, compassion and advocacy will be deeply missed.

Englewood is mourning the loss of Mayor Pro Tem Joe Anderson, who died while hiking in Summit County during the morning of Aug. 28.

Change can be hard—but it can also mark the beginning of something new.

As part of Bridge House’s operational changes, our Aurora Ready to Work trainees have started transitioning to our Boulder and Englewood houses. We’re proud of the courage and optimism they’re carrying into this next step—and grateful to the teams welcoming them.

When Ready to Work graduate Chris Smith (left) and his childhood BFF Cody were 14 years old, they started talking about owning a food truck someday.

Twenty-five years later hit the streets, brewery, and farmer's market parking lots stuffing Mother Nature's blank canvas with traditional toppings like veggies,cheese and bacon, and non-traditional deliciousness like green chili, BBQ, mac and cheese.

Bridge House Gala attendees will get to meet Chris, ask him about his Ready to Work and entrepreneurial journeys, and have a bite of Totally Baked awesomeness.

At Ready to Work, program participants earn their first paycheck in months. Each paycheck is split to provide:

🏠 A safe place to stay.
💰 Savings for tomorrow.
🌟 The simple freedom to choose.

It’s more than a paycheck—it’s the return of dignity, a reminder of self-worth, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Sometimes, the first step forward is simply having a safe place to land.

At the Tri-Cities Homeless Navigation Center in Englewood, 20 overnight beds are paired with day services, individualized support and a warm meal. For some guests, it’s the first step toward stable housing. For others, it may open the door to Ready to Work—and the employment, housing and support that come with it.

Wherever the next step leads, it begins with safety, connection and someone ready to help navigate the way forward.

If you’ve visited the Café at the J, there’s a good chance Fabian knows your name—and your favorite drink.

One year ago, he arrived at Ready to Work ready to change his life. He embraced every class, meeting and opportunity the program offered, celebrated one year of sobriety and discovered strengths he didn’t know he had.

“I put in everything,” Fabian says. “Bridge House saved my life. It changed my life.”

Summertime is fair time—and our Ready to Work outdoor crews understood the assignment. They worked behind the scenes to help create a clean, welcoming experience for fairgoers, proving once again that hard work makes a difference.

And yes…there’s a chance they managed to have a little fun along the way. 🎡🎠☀️
