By CSU, for the community.
C.A.N.S. (Cash And Nutritious Staples) Around the Oval is one of the oldest and largest community food drives benefiting the Food Bank for Larimer County. Hosted by Colorado State University and supported and managed partially by the Food Bank, the event is held each year during September and October.
C.A.N.S. is a CSU tradition where students, faculty and staff work to raise much-needed food and funds for hunger- relief programs at the Food Bank. The drive collects thousands of pounds of food and tens of thousands of dollars to support our hunger-relief efforts.
Food Bank for Larimer County not only serves the county at-large, but also the local campus community via the Rams Against Hunger program. The food collected at C.A.N.S. through is distributed both through the RAH* pantry and through the Food Bank’s Fresh Food Share No-Cost Market locations.
Not just canned food anymore!
To enhance the quality and quantity of food and better meet community needs, C.A.N.S. has evolved and expanded the types of items collected. Any type of cash and nutritious staples (including online monetary donations and healthy, non-perishable food items) are welcomed from donors.
