Our team at InnovAge Florida PACE - Tampa was up early and “walking on sunshine” in celebration of the important work of Senior Connection Center! At the Rise & Shine Inspiration Breakfast and Award Ceremony, we joined our community for an annual event that supports Senior Connection Center’s impactful efforts to help seniors access essentials like housing, healthcare, and food in times of hardship.

InnovAge PACE shares the mission of stepping in when seniors need us most, ensuring they can live safely with dignity. It’s a privilege for us to work closely with this wonderful organization – and we enjoyed a morning of delicious food, great company, and a moving celebration of those who are improving the lives of our area seniors!

It goes deeper than skilled medical care. For so many InnovAge PACE participants, nurses provide empathy, support, and experienced guidance at every step of a senior’s healthcare journey.

Yvonne Tucker, RN, is a perfect example. At our Center in Thornton, CO, Yvonne is seen here with a participant, talking through the details of an upcoming procedure. Educating and advocating for seniors, and helping them continue to live independently, are fundamental to the InnovAge mission. In our Centers where many team members work together to improve and enhance the quality of life for participants, nurses often serve as the center of high-quality, coordinated care.

On , we salute Yvonne and our entire nursing staff for being the compassionate partners our seniors can always turn to and depend on -- today, and all year long.

Hats off to Linda Whyte-a shining star in the InnovAge PACE family for 19 wonderful years!

Linda and her team bring the fun to InnovAge centers in Colorado. When lawmakers visit InnovAge PACE centers, they walk away impressed and inspired. They see how compassionate care and cost savings can go hand in hand, which is especially important as state and federal budgets continue to tighten and senior support programs face growing pressure.

With recent visits to InnovAge PACE Colorado centers in Thornton and Aurora, Colorado lawmakers shared their impressions – and kudos:

“I want this to be available to everybody. Just in my neighborhood, we have a lot of health care concerns. Really going through this place today, I thought: THIS is the model. This is what it should look like.”
- State Representative Jacque Phillips

“You have to come and see (InnovAge PACE) for yourself. When we talk about budgets and numbers, what we really need to focus on are services – the government’s ability to care for its citizens. We need to talk about the services that you guys are providing.”
- State Representative Michael Carter

“InnovAge demonstrates to us how important it is to really look at … how we can work on cost savings over the long term in a sustainable way. And you’re a great example of that.”
- State Senator Lisa Cutter

On an encore presentation of a Fox31 Great Day Colorado story, viewers heard from these lawmakers as well as Linda Whyte, Area Center Director for InnovAge PACE in Thornton. She explained how the program is designed to streamline the complexities of senior care, which not only helps to improve quality of life, it can lead to cost savings in many key areas. This benefits participants and taxpayers alike. “Our goal is to keep participants at home, safe, and independent,” Lynda said. “By providing preventive care, after-hours nursing, transportation, and social support – all under one roof – we’re reducing ER visits, hospitalizations, and caregiver stress.”

🌿👍We’re celebrating the green thumbs of InnovAge PACE on !

The outdoor areas of our centers are more than beautiful green spaces for relaxation and contemplation. Senior participants can enjoy a meaningful and rewarding activity at the centers that feature gardens and greenhouses. As one choice among a full slate of programs, gardening helps seniors remain physically and mentally active while providing opportunities to connect and socialize through a shared passion.

This is teamwork at its most vibrant and colorful. Happy Gardening Day from everyone at InnovAge PACE – with photos from our centers in Charlottesville, VA, as well as locations across Philadelphia: Allegheny, Henry Avenue, and Pennypack!

🐶 🐾 👉 Dog lovers, you won’t want to miss this story – or our amazingly well-behaved four-legged model!

Perfect for National Pet Day, this FOX31 Great Day Colorado segment provides guidance for seniors who continue to live with their beloved animals, but may need to consider safety measures, as well as the question of who will care for their pets when health issues make it difficult.

But first, the benefits. Dr. Louis Capponi, Center Medical Director at InnovAge Colorado PACE – Thornton, explained that having a pet can help lower blood pressure while improving mental health and mobility, in addition to providing love, purpose, and companionship. At the same time, Dr. Capponi encouraged seniors to look ahead: to identify a future caregiver and an emergency plan, and even consider legal or financial planning for the pet’s welfare. This all goes a long way in ensuring peace of mind for seniors and their families.

The segment also featured Parker Dato, Occupational Therapist and Regional Director of Therapy. Along with his sidekick, Keva, he shared tips that incorporate his specialty, occupational therapy. It’s about adapting the task to each unique situation, he said. This can mean avoiding too much bending over, and minimizing the potential for falls. His tips included keeping a small container of food and the pet’s bowls close to a chair rather than making repeated trips to the kitchen, and easing the grip on the leash during walks.

Thanks to Dr. Capponi, Parker, and of course, Keva, for providing important safety information while also celebrating the special bond we all have with our pets, at any age. Happy Pet Day from the InnovAge PACE team!

👏 Kudos to Allana Miller for sharing one of the most valuable benefits of the InnovAge PACE program for caregivers: peace of mind.

In an encore presentation of her interview on FOX21 Loving Living Local, Allana, Social Services Supervisor at InnovAge Colorado PACE – Pueblo, spoke of the challenges caregivers face in her community. Families are juggling work, finances, and caring for aging loved ones. It can be overwhelming, but as Allana explained, help is here to help reduce stress: “PACE is an all-inclusive program designed to keep seniors in their home. Caregivers feel reassured and supported, and it can really prevent burnout.”

During the segment, Pueblo caregiver Bernadette Chavez described the difference the program has made for her and her husband Bill after his surgery: “It was hard. There was nobody there for him. InnovAge has taken such a load off of me.”

Bill shared how he discovered PACE during a moment of crisis: “One day I was just lying there looking at the four walls. My wife saw an InnovAge bus and thought, we could use that ride. From then on, we were in – and we love it here.”

Like Bernadette and Bill, many caregivers in Pueblo and beyond have discovered how InnovAge PACE can help them navigate complex health needs and reduce financial strain, so that they don’t have to carry the burden alone.

Thanks to Allana for representing InnovAge PACE with clarity and compassion in the Pueblo community. See the full Fox21 segment here: https://tinyurl.com/3sstxyx7
