Thanks to an incredible and overwhelming response, we’ve reached our meal capacity for Saturday’s Polk County Steak Fry and can no longer accommodate additional meal reservations.

Absentee ballot requests are officially open TODAY!

Planning to vote by mail in the November 3 General Election? You can now submit your absentee ballot request to the Polk County Election Office.

IMPORTANT: Absentee ballot requests cannot be submitted online. You must print and complete the request form, then mail or hand deliver it to:

Polk County Election Office
2309 Euclid Ave.
Des Moines, IA 50310

Please DO NOT leave your request form in the drop box.

Important dates:

August 25: Absentee ballot requests are now being accepted.

October 14: Absentee ballots begin mailing to voters and in-person early voting begins.

October 19 at 5 PM: Deadline for your completed request to physically arrive at the Polk County Election Office. Postmarks do not count.

November 3: Election Day.

Request your ballot early, make your plan to vote, and help your friends and family make theirs, too!
