Today, the Des Moines Police Department proudly partnered with Highline College to celebrate National Coffee with a Cop Day!

Our officers and department staff enjoyed connecting with students, faculty, and community members over coffee and meaningful conversations.

Coffee with a Cop is about more than sharing a cup of coffee. It’s an opportunity to break down barriers, encourage open communication, build trust, and strengthen relationships with the people we serve.

We believe strong communities are built through positive relationships, mutual understanding, and a willingness to listen. Sometimes, the most meaningful connections begin with a simple conversation.

A special thank you to Highline College for welcoming us onto campus and helping make today’s event possible. We also appreciate everyone who took time out of their day to stop by, say hello, ask questions, and connect with our team.

We look forward to continuing these conversations and strengthening our community partnerships—one cup of coffee at a time!

Another great Appreciation Luncheon in the books! 🚔💙

We’re proud to host these throughout the year for the Des Moines Police Department officers and staff—it’s one of our favorite ways to say thank you. This round, a local sandwich shop delivered an incredible spread with something for everyone (and yes… it was a hit across the board).

These luncheons are about more than just good food—they’re about connection. With schedules that can change in an instant and calls that can come at any moment, we bring the appreciation to them so they can jump in when they have a few minutes to spare.

We are grateful for the ability to support such a dedicated group of people who show up for our community every day. 💙

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make our 2025 Shop with a Cop Gift Pick-Up Event such a success.

Thank you to the Des Moines, WA Police Department, South King Fire, Rotary Club of Des Moines/Normandy Park, WA, and the dedicated elementary and middle school counselors across the City of Des Moines for your partnership and support. Families arrived with big smiles and enjoyed meaningful time with our officers and the wonderful South King Fire and Rescue personnel, who generously shared goodies and winter coats with everyone who attended. The sense of joy, connection, and community was felt throughout the entire event, and we are thankful to be surrounded by so many organizations committed to making a positive impact.
