Yesterday, the City of Des Plaines hosted a Community Open House to share ideas and gather public feedback on the future of the Oakton & Lee Corridor.
As your City Clerk, I believe one of my responsibilities is helping keep residents informed about what's happening in our community, especially when it comes to projects that could shape the future of our city.
The concepts explored a wide range of ideas, including enhancing walkability, improving streetscapes, supporting local businesses, encouraging thoughtful redevelopment, creating more public gathering spaces, and improving safety and connectivity throughout the corridor. These are concepts intended to start a conversation and gather community feedback, not final plans.
Take a few minutes to look through the presentation.
What ideas do you like? What would you change? Are there concepts you think the City should explore further?
I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. 👇
