Descanso Library continues its senior nutrition program, offering lunch from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesdays. The healthy meal program by San Ysidro Health will not operate on Wednesday, June 19, due to library closure.

To see if you qualify for the weekly year-round nutrition program, for ages 60 and older, call 619.478.2384.

We host additional food services for all ages on the first and third Thursday of each month from 9 to 10 a.m. The Feeding San Diego partner manages distribution.

The website will shine all summerlong until August 31.

Find the 2024 summer learning challenge, events, booklists and eBooks of the Month. Register online or at Descanso Library. Download the summer challenge learning log to track your progress. Complete 10 books, reading hours and activities by August 31. Stop by to pick up prices once you are finished with all challenges.

The SDCL Summer Challenge is open to all ages and abilities. Learning logs are online or exclusively at SDCL branches and offered in nine different languages.
