✨🍎As August comes to a close, we want to take a moment to celebrate the amazing educators who make the beginning of the school year so special! They do it all! Welcoming new faces, building classroom communities, and creating fun, meaningful learning experiences. Our Mudbug educators and staff have worked so hard to make these first few weeks a great start to the year! We’re so grateful for them all. Here’s to an incredible year ahead!🍎✨

✨🧚‍♀️ A Little Mudbug Magic! On Friday, our PTO sprinkled some Mudbug Magic at NSE! As their monthly treat, students received a brand-new NSE pencil for back to school season! Our PTO fairies also surprised each staff member with a trip to their Fairy Vending Machine, where they got to choose a drink AND a snack! Here’s to a year filled with more Mudbug Magic!🧚✨

This is Mrs. Gomez, principal of New Sarpy Elementary, with your Mudbug Memo for the week of August 31–September 4, 2026!

It is hard to believe we are already heading into September!

Here are a few important reminders for the week:

•Beginning-of-Year Paperwork & Fees
Have you submitted your beginning-of-year paperwork and paid your technology fees? Please check—and double-check—to make sure you have taken care of these important items. Everything can be completed online, so don’t wait! We are aiming for 100% completion!

•PTO Meeting – Wednesday, September 2
Everyone is invited to join us for our first PTO Meeting of the year at 5:00 PM! Membership is FREE, and we would love to have our Mudbug families get involved. Our PTO does so much to support our students, educators, and school community!

•It’s Time to Order Mudbug Spirit Shirts!
We have made it easier than ever to order your Mudbug Spirit Shirt this year! Each class has a different color, and these shirts can be worn for our annual Fun Run in October, Field Day in May, and every Friday Spirit Day throughout the year!

•Ordering information is attached—simply scan the form and order your shirt today!

•September is Attendance Awareness Month!
Every day matters! NSE Mudbugs who have no unexcused absences during the month of September will earn a special FALL Dress Down Pass! Your presence matters, Mudbugs! Being at school each day helps students learn, grow, and stay connected to their classroom community.

•Finally, thank you to all of our families who attended Open House! We loved having you on campus and appreciate your continued partnership and support. Have a wonderful week!

✨📚Our Mudbugs have rocked DIBELS and Numeracy beginning of the year testing over the last few weeks! We are so proud of all of their hard work! Numeracy testing will continue this week with 1st grade and Kindergarten!📚✨

✨🥳Fun Fridays! Just a reminder that Fridays are spirit days! Your Mudbug may dress down in sports, team, Mudbug, or Disney attire! No costumes or pajamas, please!🥳✨

✨❤️We have been all smiles the last two days, welcoming our PreK Mudbugs! They have been exploring, playing, and learning, and we are so happy to have them at NSE! We cannot wait to have ALL PreK classes together tomorrow! Our Mudbug family will finally be complete!💙✨
