Memorial Day is the one day each year when we, as a nation and community, pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us all.

Memorial Day 2026 is about courage that inspires us, legacies that lift us, and the enduring spirit of those who gave everything for the freedoms we cherish. It’s about fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters who never came home… and the hope, strength, and unity their memory continues to spark in all of us.

🏛️ BECKER COUNTY COURTHOUSE & SHERIFF’S OFFICE NON-EMERGENCY SERVICES CLOSED TODAY

The Becker County Courthouse and the Sheriff’s Office (NON-EMERGENCY SERVICES) will be closed today, in observance of Memorial Day.

We will reopen on tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM.

Non-Emergency Services Affected:
• Gun Concealed Carry & Purchase Permits
• Boat & Water Permits
• Foreclosure Sales
• Civil Process Paperwork Submission
• Release of Information Requests

🚨 Please note: Our Deputies, Jail, Dispatch Center, and all Emergency Services will remain fully operational throughout the holiday weekend.

The Becker County Sheriff’s Office is accepting sealed bids for the surplus vehicles listed in the attached document. These vehicles are being sold for parts and scrap.

🗓 Bid Deadline:
June 12th at 4:00 p.m.
Bids received after this time will not be accepted.

📦 Sale Details:
There will be two (2) lots available.
Please submit:
• A bid amount for each individual vehicle, and
• A total bid amount for the entire lot.
Each lot will be sold as one complete unit.

🚔 Becker County Sheriff’s Office: Lifesaving Response 🚑✨

On March 19, 2026, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call no parent ever wants to make... a 10‑year‑old boy found unresponsive and not breathing.

Thanks to the calm guidance from our dispatch center, the quick actions of Dawn and her daughter, and the incredible teamwork of our deputies, Carsonville Fire & Rescue, Essentia–St. Mary’s EMS, and Lifelink III, CPR and an AED brought his heartbeat back. He was airlifted for critical care, and because of these combined efforts, he was given a fighting chance and he survived!

We are extremely proud of everyone involved. Their courage, skill, and refusal to give up truly saved a life.

Due to numerous comments on social media platforms, along with the safety of law enforcement, the Becker County Sheriff’s Office is releasing video footage of a pursuit that occurred on May 8th, 2026, in White Earth, MN. This video is being released according to MN Statute 13.82 Subd. 15, Public Benefit Data “…dispel widespread rumor or unrest.”

While everyone has a 1st Amendment right to express their opinion about this or any incident, we encourage the public to refrain from making comments that are violent or threatening in nature.
