Theft Investigation:

During the early morning hours of June 1, 2026, the John Deere tractor pictured below was reported stolen from the Old Hamer Road area of Dillon County.

The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public. Residents in the area are encouraged to review any available surveillance or security camera footage for suspicious activity or for images of the tractor being transported through the area.

Anyone with information regarding this theft is asked to contact the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office or their local law enforcement agency. Any information, no matter how minor it may seem, could assist investigators in this case.

Arrest Following Shots Fired Investigation

On May 29, 2026, deputies with the Dillon County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Bunker Hill Road and Coreys Court in Dillon County.

Witnesses advised law enforcement that a Black male with long dreads, wearing a blue shirt and blue latex gloves, had been seen operating a black Honda Accord in the area. Witnesses further reported that the individual was believed to have discharged multiple fi****ms.

Upon arrival, deputies observed a vehicle matching the description provided; however, at that time, it had not yet been identified as being involved in the incident. Deputies were also informed that the suspect had run behind a nearby building and discarded an object. While searching the area, deputies located an AR-style pistolbehind the building, which was collected and secured as evidence.

A short time later, deputies located a vehicle and individual matching the witness descriptions. A traffic stop was conducted on Worship Street in the Little Rock community of Dillon County. The driver was identified as William Christopher Clark, 39, of the Oakland community of Dillon County.

During the investigation, deputies conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and recovered an additional AR-style pistol, numerous spent shell casings, and several empty ammunition boxes.

Clark was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Dillon County Detention Center.

As a result of the investigation, Clark was charged with:

• Assault and Battery, First Degree
• Open Container of Alcohol

This investigation remains ongoing.

Vehicle Theft Investigation:

On May 27, 2026, at approximately 4:20 p.m., this truck was reported stolen from the area of Highway 301 North near Dillon High School. The Dillon County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the vehicle and identifying the suspect involved.

Investigators are asking anyone in the area with security or surveillance cameras to review footage from around the time of the incident. Authorities are also seeking information regarding a tall white male who was reportedly wearing a red or pink shirt during the timeframe of the theft.

The vehicle was last known to be in the Fairmont area. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office.

The truck we are seeking is a white 2004 GMC sierra with South Carolina tags. There is a Marshal Jones Racing sticker on the back glass with the #10 on it. If seen please contact your local authorities.

Narcotics Arrest:

On May 18, 2026, investigators were conducting operations in the area of 1st Avenue when law enforcement observed a silver Nissan Maxima that was under investigation.

As investigators approached the residence, the suspect, Jaheem Janazzeon Cabbagestalk, entered the vehicle and attempted to leave the area. Prior to departing, the suspect was observed handing a backpack to another individual nearby.

Law enforcement recovered the backpack and located narcotics along with a firearm inside. A traffic stop was conducted a short distance away, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Jaheem Janazzeon Cabbagestalk, 24, of Dillon, was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

• Trafficking in Methamphetamine or Co***ne Base, 10 grams or more but less than 28 grams – 1st Offense

• Trafficking in Co***ne, 28 grams or more but less than 100 grams – 1st Offense

• Trafficking in Fentanyl, 4 grams or more but less than 14 grams – 1st Offense

• Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime

• Unlawful Sale/Delivery of a Pistol to Certain Persons and Possession of a Stolen Pistol

All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

DEATH INVESTIGATION – COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE REQUESTED
$500 REWARD

On May 13, 2026 at approximately 1:30AM deputies responded to 3139 US 301 in the Hamer area of Dillon County in reference to shots fired.

Upon arrival, deputies located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound near the Vanity Lounge. The victim was transported for medical treatment and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The deceased victim has been identified as 23 year old Kim Maurice Rowland Jr of Dillon.

During the course of the investigation, law enforcement determined that three individuals had been shot. In addition, several vehicles and nearby buildings were struck by gunfire. Investigators recovered more than 80 shell casings from the scene.

Today, May 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM, Sheriff Jamie Hamilton, deputies of the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office, County Council members, the County Administrator, Judge Lockemy, the Punishers Black Water Chapter LEMC (Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club), community members, and the families of Deputy John C. Williamson and Deputy Carroll J. Taylor came together to honor the lives and service of two fallen heroes.

Deputy John C. Williamson and Deputy Carroll J. Taylor tragically lost their lives in the line of duty in an automobile accident on April 11, 1986, while serving the citizens of Dillon County with courage and dedication.

We are proud to have partnered with the Punishers Black Water Chapter LEMC for this meaningful memorial tribute as we reflected on the legacy, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment of these deputies who gave their lives in service to others.

Their bravery and dedication to protecting Dillon County will never be forgotten, and their memory continues to live on through those who serve and remember them today.

On May 8, 2026 at approximately 10:30pm, deputies responded to McLeod of Dillon in reference to a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, deputies conducted interviews with individuals on scene in an attempt to determine where the incident occurred.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the shooting took place in the area of Rebecca Road within the Hamer community of Dillon County.

On May 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM, Sheriff Jamie Hamilton and the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office will come together to honor the lives and service of Deputy John C. Williamson and Deputy Carroll J. Taylor, who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty in a car accident on April 11, 1986.

We are proud to partner with Punishers Black Water Chapter LEMC (Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club) for this special tribute.

We invite our entire community to join us as we remember their dedication, bravery, and unwavering commitment to protecting Dillon County. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
