SOLICITOR ALERT!

Sunrun has received a Solicitor's License from the City of Dixon. This allows them to go door-to-door between the hours of 9AM to 7PM Monday through Saturday.

There will be 1 person out soliciting August 24-29, 31 and September 1-5, 2026. Sunrun IS NOT selling anything or speaking on behalf of the city. You have every right to turn them away if you do not want to purchase what they are selling.

When a solicitor comes to your door they should always be able to produce a license. We urge citizens to ask solicitors to show the license they have received from City Hall as proof that they are authorized solicitors. If they are unable to produce the license, disengage from the conversation and call the police. You can reach the police department at 815-288-4411.

As a reminder:
🚫 Citizens should be careful about the information they give to solicitors.
🚫 Solicitors should not knock on your door if you have a sign stating "No Trespassing", "No Peddlers", "No Solicitors" or any other indicating that you do not want to be disturbed.
🚫 Solicitors must leave once the resident has asked them to leave.
🚫Solicitors are not allowed to enter your home without your permission.

Tour the Trail was a success! 🛺🌳 Tour the Trail will be offered again this fall. Keep an eye out for more information on a fall date and time.

A huge thank you to the six community leaders who volunteered their time to keep the wheels turning! For four straight hours, our drivers made nonstop trips throughout Page Park and across Petunia Crossing, giving community members a chance to enjoy the trail and take in the views.

👏 A special thank you to our volunteer drivers:
Mike Venier, Mary Oros, Geoff Smith, Mike O’Horo, Amanda Wike, Luke Nelson and Danny Langloss, Jr.

📣 And a big shoutout to Duane Long, who kept things organized and managed the seemingly never-ending line of riders!

Thank you to everyone who volunteered, participated and helped make Tour the Trail such a great community event. We loved seeing so many people out enjoying Page Park and Petunia Crossing! 🌸

Page Park & Petunia Crossing golf cart tours to be given to senior citizens and anyone unable to navigate the path without assistance.

August 6, 2026 from 3PM to 7PM
Start & End point is the Dixon Band Shell

Free will offerings accepted. Bottled water will also be provided.

Treat yourself afterward by staying for the final Summer Sounds band concert.

🚧 TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE 🚧

Please be advised that 4th Avenue at Palmyra Street will be closed beginning at 5:00 AM on Thursday, August 6, while the City of Dixon Water Department patches sections of the roadway.

Palmyra Street will remain open during the work.

The closure is expected to remain in place for most of the day. Please plan ahead, use alternate routes, and drive safely around the work zone.
