Today’s Albuquerque Journal poll has given me even more reason to be grateful for the support I’m receiving from New Mexicans across our state. The poll shows me leading the race for Secretary of State with 47% support, compared with 35% for my opponent.

I will continue traveling across our state, listening to communities, and sharing my vision for secure, accessible, and transparent elections.

I have spent years administering elections and protecting the right to vote. I am ready to bring that experience to the Secretary of State’s Office and serve every New Mexican with integrity.

On Women’s Equality Day, I’m especially grateful for the women who came before me. And I think about our future, including my daughter, a future where our children’s voices are heard, their rights are protected, and there is no limit to what they can become.

I also want to honor the women who fought to move us forward, recognize those who were still excluded from the ballot even after the 19th Amendment was certified on this day in 1920, and continue the work of equality for every woman and every generation to come.

🗳️ The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was signed into law 61 years ago, today.

The Voting Rights Act was a landmark victory against racial discrimination at the ballot box, protecting voting rights for communities that had long faced barriers, including Latino, Native American, and Black voters.

Voting rights can never be taken for granted. As your next Secretary of State, I will continue fighting for elections that are secure, accessible, transparent, and fair, so every eligible New Mexican can participate in our democracy.

Your voice matters. Your vote matters. 💙

Happy Friday everyone -hope you’ve had a great week!

I wanted to share something exciting! I was selected to be one of the 2026 Democratic Party of New Mexico’s Rising Stars. It is especially nice to be able to share it with mi amigo and fellow candidate Juan for New Mexico!
