On Tuesday, May 27, 2025, the City of Douglas made a land donation, around North Madison Avenue Park, to the Douglas-Coffee County Land Bank Authority to help fill local housing needs for victims of Hurricane Helene and to support workforce housing. On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the Douglas-Coffee County Land Bank Authority officially deeded the donated property to The Hope Initiative at a closing, which was held at Mr. Jerome Adams' Law Office. The Hope Initiative plans to hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the proposed eight homes to be constructed on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM. The Douglas-Coffee County Land Bank Authority (LBA) presented Hope for Coffee with a $2,500 donation towards Hurricane Helene recovery efforts in Coffee County earlier in April 2025. The donation will support local efforts in response to the devastating effects of the storm in Douglas and Coffee County. The donation will provide essential materials and resources needed throughout Coffee County.

Wes was appointed by the Coffee County Board of Education. We are seeking qualified vendors for the maintenance and repair of LBA owned properties as required. Maintenance duties may include but are not limited to; lawn care, drywall repair, plumbing repairs, painting, fixture replacement, flooring, water remediation, mold remediation, HVAC repairs, pest control, etc.

Vendors interested in providing maintenance and repair services must complete and submit a Vendor Accreditation Form. The form may be downloaded from the website, www.cityofdouglasga.gov/LBA and submitted via email to [email protected] or mailed to the Community Development Office, ATTN: Alyssa Fussell, City Hall, 302 S. Madison Avenue in a sealed envelope plainly marked “LBA PROPERTY MAINTENANCE PROPOSAL.” Further documentation may be requested at the discretion of members of the Douglas-Coffee County Land Bank Authority. Submission of a Vendor Accreditation Form does not guarantee that the individual or entity will be approved or hired to provide goods and/or services.
