Work on the Master Plan is well underway! Community surveys wrapped up this past spring, and since then, the Master Plan Committee and the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission have been meeting with town staff and additional stakeholders to turn findings into draft chapters.

Want to stay involved? Our next public meeting is on October 15th at 5:00 p.m. at Town Hall. We will review the key findings and action items of the Open Space & Recreation Chapter, the Natural & Cultural Resources Chapter, and the Economic Development Chapter.

Residents of the Town of Douglas, your Town is updating its Master Plan and we need your input! This plan will lay out a vision for Douglas' future over the next twenty years and provide a roadmap for achieving community goals.

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the community workshop last night! It was such a fun and engaging evening filled with great conversations, creative ideas, and lots of energy! We are so grateful for the time you took to share your thoughts and perspectives.

We hope you can make it to the Douglas Master Plan open house this Thursday! The open house will take place at the municipal center gym between 5:30 and 8:00 pm and attendees can arrive at any time. Free pizza and kids activities will be provided.

The open house will consist of various tables representing chapters of the master plan. Attendees can visit the tables to discuss their thoughts on the chapter and participate in activities that will help us understand your perspectives and insights.

The map below shows where each of the stations will be located in the gym. The stations corresponding with each number are listed in the comments section of this post. We can't wait to see you there and hear your ideas!

The Town of Douglas is now working on a new Master Plan!

A Master Plan is a long-range strategic plan for a community. It captures the vision of where the community wants to be at a point in the future and identifies strategies to advance that vision.

Douglas' last Master Plan, completed in 1998, provided valuable guidance at the time, but much has changed since then!

A new Master Plan will help ensure that the Town equipped to capitalize on both the opportunities and challenges of the next 20 years!
