Our company breaks down our RIT team into three groups for MAYDAY scenarios, each individual has a task to ensure all issues will be handled.

This morning started off with a call that was a little different—but just as important. 🐥

Earlier today, crews from Dover Township Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of ducklings trapped in a sewer drain—for the third time. With the repeated nature of the situation and the obvious danger the drain posed, our firefighters stepped in to safely remove each duckling and prevent further risk.

After ensuring they were safe, the ducklings were relocated to a nearby lake with the help of a local contact, giving them a much better environment to grow and thrive.

While we always aim to leave wildlife undisturbed when possible, situations like this—where there is a clear, ongoing hazard—require intervention.

Great teamwork, a happy ending, and a reminder that no call is too small when it comes to helping those in need—feathered or not. 💛🚒
