Another happy farewell and congratulations to Fireman Scott Pennewill. Scott recently moved out of the 9House to take a position with Broward County Florida as a medical examiner. His son, Austin Pennewill, will be following in his footsteps and joining the 9House live-in program. He has been working hard through his rookie book, marking a special father/son operational duo while they were both here. We wish you best of luck Scott!

*Working Fire*

Yesterday at 08:58 hours, Engine 9-1, Tanker 9 and The Fire Chief responded to box 32-36 for a working house fire. Chief 32 arrived and confirmed a working kitchen fire, Engine 9-1’s crew was assigned to pull a back up line and conduct searches. Crews operated for roughly an hour and a half.

Congratulations to Engine Lieutenant Zach Taylor! He successfully completed Advanced Line Systems this weekend as apart of the water rescue training program, making him a Water Rescue Technician!

This helps add to our growing team of Water Rescue Technicians, Station 9 currently operates one Achilles Inflatable Boat that we acquired in 2021, as well as an inflatable NRS Rescue Boat.

**SPECIAL OPERATIONS**

Thursday at 1638hrs Rescue 9 and Utility 9 responded with 5 as apart of the York County Advanced Technical Rescue Team for an upgraded Structure Collapse assignment at Eastern York High School from an EF2 tornado. Company 9 units arrived on scene and were tasked with completing a primary search and damage assessment of various levels of the school. Approximately 50 students were occupying the gymnasium at the time of the incident but were unharmed and evacuated by initial crews.




York County ATR

Rescue 9 assisted Company 41 last week as a York County ATR resource for a trail rescue. The station remained staffed while the rescue was committed.

Members took the time today to spruce up Chase Hartlaub’s memorial, the memorial had it’s weeds pulled and a fresh layer of mulch placed down. We miss you forever Chase!
