A few updates...
~I am hoping to move furniture into the office this week (it wasn't officially vacated/turned back over to the Township until Friday - and the Township has some maintenance to do). And then I need to get the electronics set up.
~I installed a new USPS mailbox out front (the previous one was removed). This is strictly for USPS incoming and outgoing mail (with stamps).
~ There will be a locked dropbox out by the office door for people looking to drop their payments off in person outside of office hours. The previous one was removed. A replacement is being figured out.
~My official hours should begin the week of Monday 2/16. The County is still waiting on bonds from the insurance company for all new tax collectors - and we cannot legally work on the payments, etc until we are bonded and then sworn in by the County.
~~~I know some of you have interim tax payments to make - and I am working on the details of how to go about that while waiting on the bonding. You will be given credit for the date you paid it - even if you have to rewrite the check, or I can't process it for a bit yet.~~~
***On that note - IF you made an interim payment after 12/31/2025, and paid it to the former tax collector, you will need to rewrite a check, payable to - Rachelle L Davis, Tax Collector. I am waiting to hear back from the County and Township, and then can give more info on getting the interim payments collected for those due this week, and the progress of a lockbox. Sorry for the confusion during this transition - but the things holding me up from getting rolling are beyond my control. Once I am all set, it will go much smoother.***
