Our Mission
Community Outreach Service Center, www.COSCdenver.org, are people working together to build for a better community. Since 1988, COSC has helped thousands of people experiencing homelessness, returning citizens and marginalized individuals find hope through employment, housing, peer support and basic needs resources to build community wealth. Our History
Founded in the parsonage of Agap

e Christian Church, Community Outreach Service Center has been providing vital community services since 1988 and is an anchor in the Five Points community, serving the needs of all residents, which remain despite the economic revitalization of gentrification. Our values are founded in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who in his speeches encouraged people to keep moving, to crawl if they had to, to walk if they could, to run if it was possible, and then to fly, as we all should. Our Programs:
Employment Workshops
Vocational Training
Employment Placement
One on One/Group Peer Support
ID’s and Birth Certificates
Rental Assistance
Transitional Housing
Suportive Housing
Clothing
Food Pantry
Hygiene Kits
BASIC Project
The People’s Pickles

Happy New Years 2026 from the What's Up Wednesday Movie and Meal Outreach from the Denver Streets.

Over 50 beautiful people joined us today with a movie fitting for 2025: Dumber and Dumber To laughing out this year in fellowship breaking bread and sharing spaghetti.

In 2015, Community Outreach Service Center served 1465 meals on Wednesdays. Today's meal and movie was a great end as New Year's Eve meals do not get the same attention as Thanksgiving and Christmas for the homeless which is why we do this weekly and not just for holidays.

Have a Blessed Safe New Years, everyone!

Medicaid is mental health care. For countless Coloradans, it’s the foundation for accessing essential mental health and substance use services.
For over a decade, leaders from Colorado’s health foundations have worked together to expand access to equitable mental health care and strengthen the health care safety net for those too often left underserved or unserved.
In a recent op-ed, Leadership from six Colorado health foundations—including our very own Executive Director, Lorez Meinhold—united to underscore what’s at stake for our communities if access to Medicaid is reduced.
At Caring for Denver, we’re committed to ensuring our community can get the care they need—when and where they need it.
