🚗 I’m bringing my Arrive Alive Prom Pledge to high schools in my Assembly District again this year, bringing together students, parents, educators, and community partners to promote safe choices during prom and graduation season.

📝 Through Arrive Alive, students pledge that they will never drink and drive, never ride with an impaired driver, and will call a trusted adult if they need a safe ride home.

📞 Parents and guardians make a pledge too—to answer that call and be there to get them home safely, no questions asked.

🎓 Prom and graduation should be remembered for celebrations, friendships, and accomplishments—not preventable tragedies. By planning ahead, looking out for one another, and making responsible decisions, we can ensure every student arrives home safely.

🤝 Thank you to everyone who joined us in Amsterdam to kick off this year’s program and are helping make this year’s Arrive Alive Pledge a success. Together, we’re sending an important message: one smart decision can save a life ❤️

🇺🇸 Legislation I co-sponsored to help veterans connect with employment opportunities across New York State passed the Assembly today.

⭐ A.6084A requires the Department of Labor to maintain a list of available careers and job openings for veterans.

⭐ Makes that information easily accessible through the Department of Veterans’ Services.

⭐ Helps veterans transition from military service to civilian careers and connect with meaningful employment opportunities.

Supporting those who served means helping ensure they have access to the tools and opportunities needed to succeed after their service. 🇺🇸

🇵🇱 I was proud to join my colleagues this morning in presenting a Legislative Resolution recognizing Polish Heritage Day at the New York State Capitol.

During my remarks, I spoke about the strong Polish-American heritage in the 111th Assembly District, including the important role of St. Adalbert Church in Schenectady and St. Stanislaus Church in Amsterdam, both of which have served as centers of faith, culture, and community for generations. St. Adalbert was established to serve Schenectady’s Polish immigrants and has remained a cornerstone of the local Polish community for more than a century, while St. Stanislaus continues to be a proud symbol of Polish heritage in Amsterdam.

I also highlighted the many Polish festivals and cultural traditions that continue to bring families together throughout our region, as well as the recent Field Mass hosted by the Polish American Veterans organizations that honored faith, service, and the sacrifices of those who served our nation.

It was a pleasure to join Mare Głowacki of the Polish Community Center in Albany and Consul General Mateusz Sakowicz in celebrating the enduring contributions of Polish Americans to our communities and to New York State.

Pleased to welcome a distinguished delegation of Japanese and Japanese American business, civic, and cultural leaders to the New York State Assembly.

The delegation was led by Consul General of Japan in New York Ambassador Satoshi Katahira and included representatives from the Japanese American Association of New York, the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of New York, Japan Society, and community leaders.

New York and Japan share a strong partnership built on friendship, innovation, economic cooperation, and mutual respect. I appreciated the opportunity to recognize the many contributions the Japanese American community continue to make in our state and to discuss the growing role of technology, and international collaboration in shaping our future.

🏛️ Legislation I sponsored to stop lending institutions from sending unsolicited “live loan checks” through the mail has passed both houses of the Legislature and is now headed to the Governor’s desk (A.9404A).

📬 These checks arrive in the mail and often appear to be legitimate payments or refunds, but when deposited can automatically create a loan with interest, fees, and repayment obligations that the recipient never requested.

📜 This bill helps protect consumers from deceptive lending practices by ensuring loans are issued only when a person affirmatively requests or applies for them.

✅ This common-sense measure strengthens consumer protections, increases transparency, and helps New Yorkers avoid unwanted debt.

🏆 Humbled to receive the Vincent C. Mastrofrancisco Partners in Program Award at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady’s Annual Meeting.

The Boys & Girls Club has a long history of providing young people with a safe place to learn, grow, and build confidence. I’m grateful for this recognition and proud to support an organization that makes such a positive difference in the lives of children and families throughout our community.
