On Sunday, two of our officers, along with Louisiana State Police and Ball Police Department, made a dream come true for Dustyn Ates.
On Sunday, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Grant A Wish made a dream come to life for 17-year-old Dustyn Ates of Shreveport who suffers from leukemia, cerebral sinovenous thrombosis, and avascular necrosis, which limits his ability to live the life of a normal teenager. Dustyn spends his days battling these terrible conditions and refuses to give up.
Dustyn and his family were picked up by a limousine at their residence on Sunday and with a full LSP escort, he was taken to the Texas Stateline where he was greeted by various other agencies and escorted to the Airport in Dallas. Dustyn was then flown to Disney World where he will stay at the Give Kids The World Resort for a week and he was also given spending money for any extra expenses that he may have.
Louisiana State Police want to take this time to thank the Creola and Ball Police Departments for helping us make this dream come to life.
