Summer is unofficially here, and this is your reminder: NEVER leave a dog in a hot car. ☀️🐾

Even on a mild day, temperatures inside a vehicle can rise dangerously fast, and cracking the windows does little to help.

If you can’t take your dog with you inside, it’s safest to leave them at home.

If you see a dog in distress inside a hot car, contact local law enforcement or animal control immediately.

Fun fact: grey foxes are incredibly smart and adaptable, found everywhere from rural fields to city neighborhoods. They also help keep rodent populations in check—nature’s pest control at work. Always a great day when wildlife gets a second chance back in the wild.

Wednesday wisdom: you can’t out-crow an ACO 🐔

When the call comes in as “loose rooster,” it usually means one thing—strategy, patience, and a bit of creativity.

If you’ve seen, reported, read about, or heard about the roosters on Meadowlark Ln., thank you for your patience while we worked the situation.

One of the two feathered escapees was safely and humanely captured using a drop-style trap—no injuries, minimal stress, and a controlled approach for a tricky bird.

Why a drop trap?
• Humane and controlled capture method
• Safer for both the animal and staff
• Highly effective for free-roaming poultry

Quick reminder: loose poultry can be unpredictable and difficult to catch without stress or injury. If you see one, please contact Animal Control and let us handle it.
