I couldn’t be more grateful to my bestie for creating this video with information I shared.
It is my honor, privilege and joy to be Mr Darcy and Miss Marple’s foster mama.

There are so many more like me, this is just one story that thanks to Cat N Around Rescue, my supportive family, my wonderful and amazing vet, Dr Kuhn and my dear friends at Prairie Animal Hospital that Mr Darcy is now thriving and beating FIP! Miss Marple continues to thrive as well, both miraculously so after bouts with coccidia and worms at six weeks and then Darcy’s FIP.

There will be more information posted soon, with transparent vet bill totals so far, and a wishlist to help cover the kittens extended stay with me due to treatment.

Please consider donating, shopping the wishlist, becoming a foster, or adopting. These past almost 10 weeks have been incredibly challenging at times but so rewarding and fulfilling.

Meet my Foster Kittens from Cat N Around Rescue…are you their Furever Family?

Hey everyone… the name’s Mr Darcy 🐾
Age: approx. 12 weeks old
Status: Single and currently accepting cuddle applications

I’m a tiny gentleman with very big emotions and an even bigger love for being held close. My favorite place in the world is tucked up against your chin where I can snooze like the perfect little loaf I am. When I’m not snuggling, I’m busy being playful, curious, and just a little mischievous.

A few things you should probably know before you fall completely in love with me (which you will):

🧻 Tissue paper is my sworn enemy and my favorite toy.
📦 Boxes are for playing, hiding, and dramatic surprise attacks.
🐾 I adore playing with my sister and take our wrestling very seriously.
🌀 I chase my own tail like it owes me money.
😴 I am, without exaggeration, an elite-level snuggler who sleeps best pressed right up under your chin.

I’m affectionate, gentle, silly, and full of that perfect kitten energy that somehow means nonstop chaos and nonstop cuddles at the same time. I will follow you around the house, steal your heart, and then fall asleep on you like I pay rent.

What I’m looking for is a forever human who enjoys warm glasses-fogging snuggles, spontaneous play sessions, and the occasional midnight zoomies. In return, I offer unconditional love, tiny toe beans, and daily doses of serotonin.

Meet my Foster Kittens from Cat N Around Rescue…are you their Furever Family?

Hey everyone… the name’s Miss Marple 🐾
Age: approx. 12 weeks old
Status: Fearless, Fabulous, and fully in charge of this household

I am a bold, beautiful calico with a lot to say and absolutely no intention of keeping any of it to myself. I’m equal parts playful whirlwind and affectionate cuddle baby. One minute I’m scaling furniture like a tiny mountain lion, the next I’m tucked into your arms purring like an angel who has definitely committed crimes but is very cute about it.

A few things you should probably know before you fall completely in love with me (which you will):

🧗‍♀️ I climb everything. If it is tall, I will conquer it. If it moves, I will attack it.
🐾 I specialize in sneak attacks on toes, strings, sleeves, shadows, and unsuspecting siblings.
🌀 I play hard and fast with nonstop kitten energy and zero fear.
💬 I am very chatty and will happily narrate my entire life at any volume.
😴 After causing absolute chaos, I instantly turn into a snuggle bug and curl up like the sweet baby I truly am.

I adore wrestling with my brother, supervising all household activities, and inserting myself into whatever you’re doing because obviously it involves me. I’m curious, affectionate, brave, and bursting with that classic calico personality that is equal parts spice and sugar.

What I’m looking for is a forever human who enjoys adventure, constant commentary, surprise parkour, and warm cuddles after the chaos settles. In return, I offer endless entertainment, tiny toe beans, loud opinions, and a whole lot of love.

As we wind down this Thanksgiving Weekend, I have so much to be thankful for this year and always.

To all of you in my community, locally, who continue to support our Library and visit us, I appreciate each of you for your contributions and visits to find your next read. A Copper Creek Family who’s unfortunatelymoving away, generously donated the books they no longer needed to us, and it was a lot of books we thrive on! We will miss their daughters visiting the Library but appreciated the thoughtfulness.

To the greater bookish community, near and far, in particular a wonderful author named C.L. Binkley, you’ve blown me away with an act of kindness I could never have imagined.
I won a copy of The Salty Pelican by C.L.Binkley through the Little Free Library site, and before I even got to get it out the door, Mom was plowing through and LOVING this story. After reading, she reached out to the author looking for other books she may have written (this was a debut for C.L.) and also did what proud moms do and shared my story. Unbeknownst to me, kindness and generosity brewed a plan that resulted in two boxes of books showing up on my doorstep! Inspired by my story, drive, and love for our Library, a book drive was held for me and Copper Creek’s Little Free Library all the way in Titusville, Florida. I’ve just found out that the books kept coming and another box is too. I was so taken aback, flabbergasted in the absolute best way, overjoyed, and reinvigorated by this act of great kindness. This special gesture will remain a true highlight of 2025. We highly recommend you grab The Salty Pelican from our Library, it will offer a warm up when it goes in for the December Book Swap!

Speaking of, December book swap will happen Monday or Tuesday, providing I don’t turn into an ice sculpture doing it!

I also cant forget to express gratitude for my amazing family. We had a special Thanksgiving with my sister in town and though Mother Nature cut our visit short, we made the most of every moment and i am so grateful for their unwavering love and support in everything I do.

Book Fest proved to be incredibly successful for Broken Beginnings, Mosaics by Amy, which means new pieces will be flowing into stores slow but steady leading up to Christmas. Custom orders still welcome!

I’m also proud and excited to announce that following Book Fest, my friends Peoria Book Rack Gift Booktique began carrying my bookish collection, and some of my regular collection too! All very giftable, or great gifts for you to give to yourself. One of a kind and handmade, please shop local and consider shopping handmade too!

River Kitty Cafe got a couple new holiday pieces and more are coming, including the Santa Hat Cats!

After an amazing Book Fest with Peoria Book Rack Gift Booktique in Peoria this past Saturday (if you missed it, save the date for November 16, 2026 and DO NOT miss next year!), I headed to Lulu's On Main - Morton where I was invited to set up a larger display of my Mosaics!

Hopefully for the foreseeable future, you will be able to find my whole collection all together at Lulu’s. I’m very grateful for the opportunity and support the store offers local artists and makers like me. Broken Beginnings is a passion project, something that makes me feel productive, but also whole. This weekend at Book Fest, I got to see in person the way a piece can reach or touch someone. It was so meaningful, and filled my heart, how well my work was received, and the conversations I had with amazing humans who chose to buy from me!💜

You will still find my work at The Wink House, and River Kitty Cafe, and stay tuned because with any luck, some of my pieces will soon be somewhere else local that I LOVE🤭!

Don’t forget, foster kitties Miss Marple and Kent are waiting on their furever homes and families. These two are so fun and so loving, they would be a good fit almost anywhere!

Just remember, if you don’t already have a cat in the house, two kittens are truly better than one. Kitten-hood lasts two years, just like puppies, and if they don’t have company when they want to play at 2am, you might end up regretting your life choices!😂 This is fact and not a ploy to get rid of more kittens, you’d be told the same thing by any good rescue. A kitten is a wonderful creature that grows into an amazing cat, that will need your love and care for an average of 15 years. They will also be your truest companion and offer you love and joy their whole lives! Just a couple things to consider.
