Ground has officially been broken! We are truly excited about this huge project that has been a long time coming! After almost 80 years and long overdue, the new Wilder-Waite is finally in the works, which the students, teachers, counselors, and administrators truly deserve. The same AMAZING staff and welcoming atmosphere, but with a whole new building!

What happened yesterday at the Minneapolis Catholic school is truly devastating and heartbreaking and my thoughts and prayers are with those students and their families during these difficult times. No parent or guardian should ever have to worry about whether their child will make it back home from school once they leave the house. School shootings in America have declined over the years, but they still happen far too often. In almost every single case, the murderers were found to have had mental health issues that were not addressed or taken serious.

I am pleading to all parents to pay close attention to their children and take any signs of possible mental health issues or violent behavior extremely serious and address those immediately. Please don’t just ignore it or think it’s no big deal. They need your help and intervention now before it’s too late.

And I’m also pleading to students to speak up when they see things that may seem off about their friends or classmates. Tell your parents, teachers, or coaches about what you notice. It may end up being nothing or it may end up saving countless lives.

We are one community and we MUST all work together to ensure the safety of every single student and educator every single day.

Happy Friday everyone! April 2nd was World Autism Awareness Day, but I believe a one day recognition isn’t enough. Autism and special needs affect so many households all around the world and just in our school district, there are over 750 students with special needs that deserve full attention and treatment to succeed and live happy lives. There is a strong chance that you know a family that has a child with special needs. Please make sure you take the time to reach out to that family and offer any kind of help, including words of motivation, because it will mean more to them than you will ever know. Have an amazing weekend everyone!

I cannot express how thankful and grateful I am for having won a seat on the Dunlap School Board along with Tom Feldman and Mick Hall! I want to thank everyone who supported me throughout this incredible journey, especially my truly amazing wife, family, and friends as I could not have done this without their motivation day in and day out! I want to also thank those who took the time out of their busy schedules to go out and vote to make their voices heard. This is not just a win for myself, but a HUGE win for all of our teachers, counselors, parents and most importantly, our students!

Throughout this entire campaign, I said the same thing: I want ALL of our students to succeed.

And now, I am ready to fulfill my promises and make sure all of our schools get the resources they need for their success!

I have spent almost all of my free time meeting voters and campaigning, so I finally voted after work today! There’s still time to go vote with several voting locations in Peoria County!

It's Election Day! Cast your ballot at any of our 56 polling places. The polls are open until 7 pm.

While local elections may not receive as much attention from the media and public, these races directly impact our lives and communities. The historically low turnout in these elections emphasize the power that each and every voter has through their vote. These elections affect the roads we drive on, the libraries we visit, the schools that educate our children, how tax dollars get allocated, and the list goes on. These elections create and amplify the voices of our local leaders, so cast your ballot to ensure your voice is heard.

We have over 250 election judges throughout the county ready to assist, so get out and vote!

You can find a list of our polling places here: https://www.peoriaelections.gov/173/

Today is the day! Election Day is finally here and it is your last chance to cast your votes! Regardless if I win or lose today, I truly enjoyed being able to speak with so many parents, teachers, students, and voters these past couple of months. Hearing their views and concerns has truly inspired me to keep pushing harder and I look forward to advocating for our teachers and students to ensure that ALL students succeed!
