Yesterday evening Dunning Fire was called to mutual aid the Plum Creek fire north west of Johnstown. The truck spent the night there to watch and help contain the fire then returned home this morning. The last update this morning was the fire had spread to 24,000 acres.

Last evening we were called to Northwest of Brownlee for mutual aid for a grass fire. We are thankful for the rain today.

Just a post about one of our own from the local museum a few weeks ago

Members of the Dunning as well as other Blaine County VFDs answered the call to a prairie fire south of Seneca yesterday afternoon. Pictured is rancher/volunteer fireman Zach Whitenack with #23 that he operates when there's a fire. (That's a 1.300 gallon water tank on truck bed.)
This morning Zach was making repairs and getting #23 ready to roll again. He commented that they returned to Dunning at 1 am this morning.
Forecast today is high of 53 degrees and wind.

This past week Dunning Fire was called out to mutual aid two fires. One near Brownlee and one south of Mullen. Just remember that conditions are dry and fires start very easily right now
