While I am sad to see these councilmembers move on, I’m genuinely happy for them as they each start a new journey. I’m grateful for their service, dedication and leadership. I deeply appreciate everything they have contributed.

Life does not stand still, and neither do the people dedicated to serving our City! With two Councilmembers embracing new chapters in their lives, we suddenly find ourselves with two open seats and big opportunities ahead.

This is a wonderful opportunity for community members who are passionate about making a difference, contributing ideas, and helping shape our community's future.
We invite anyone interested in serving to apply. Whether you're a seasoned volunteer or seeking a new way to participate and be more engaged in our community, we'd be happy to hear from you!

Application Deadline: July 8

If you've been looking for a meaningful way to contribute, this could be your chance. Join us in helping move our community forward!
For application details and eligibility requirements, please visit https://www.duvallwa.gov/553/Council-Openings

We look forward to welcoming new voices and perspectives to Council!

Tonight I attended the State of the County address with King County Executive Girmay Zahilay. I was especially glad to attend alongside Duvall Councilmember Adam Olen, as well as sitting with my Snoqualmie Valley colleagues Carnation Deputy Mayor Jessica Merizan and Snoqualmie Mayor James Mayhew.

I deeply appreciate the investments King County continues to make in our communities and hearing Executive Zahilay’s priorities and vision for the future. Thank you for the ongoing commitment to building a stronger future for our communities.

Congratulations to Snovalley Pride for their fourth annual Pride Picnic in the City of Carnation! What a beautiful, well-attended event celebrating love, joy, community and kindness. At a time when many LGBTQIA+ people across the country continue to face challenges and uncertainty, it is especially meaningful to see so many neighbors come together in support, celebration and belonging.

The weather cooperated today, the vibe was welcoming and laid-back, and it was wonderful to celebrate Pride in the Snoqualmie Valley.

Good night, Duvall! What an epic finale! Thank you again to everyone involved in making Duvall Days happen.. it is no small feat. If you’re looking for ways to contribute, helping pick up trash around town and the parks helps tremendously! I know several groups are planning to work on it tomorrow. Many hands makes light work and shows pride in our town. Thank you!

Happy Duvall Days! Rain or shine we show up! Thank you so much to Planning Commissioner Mala Muthuvadivu, Councilmember Adam Olen, Cultural Commissioner Chair Crystal Frasier, Councilmember Jenn Hernandez, Library Board Member Julia Ruud, and Mayor Pro Tem Ronn Mercer for walking with me in the parade today! Thank you to all the City staff for their extra efforts and hard work prepping for this event. Thank you to the volunteers and organizers who make this happen! And a special congratulations to our Grand Marshal Marilyn Country Roney who gives endlessly to our community, always showing up with generosity, kindness, and a deep love for Duvall. She honors the traditions and history that make our town special while warmly embracing its future, helping to bridge old and new Duvall in a way that brings people together. Country, your dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment to our community make this recognition so well deserved.
