Limerick Siren Test
Constellation will conduct its semi-annual, full-volume test of the emergency sirens surrounding the Limerick Clean Energy Center today, 6/1, at approximately 2 p.m. and again on Tuesday, 6/2, at various intervals throughout the day. The full-volume test are performed in June and December.
The warning siren system consists of sirens located in the 10-mile radius around the center. The sirens are not a signal to evacuate. Instead they are intended to warn area residents to tune to a local Emergency Alert Broadcast television or radio station for news or instructions.
Limerick Clean Energy Center (LCEC), located in Limerick Township, is a two-unit nuclear generation facility capable of producing enough electricity for more than 1.7 million homes.
