“As leaders in education policy and strong supporters of transgender students and every student, we disagree with the Administration’s decision to rescind federal guidance related to Title IX civil rights protections for transgender students in public schools. The guidance was based off of a strong legal precedent established by federal courts across the country, and rescinding it calls into question the protections that Title IX offers transgender students by law."

Dear Advocate,

Please urge your Senator for a Time Out on Educator Evaluation Provisions by sharing this message below with your legislators, TODAY!

Dear Senator,

As you enter the final days of the legislative session, we at New York State PTA repeat our urgent call for a “Time Out” on the educator evaluation provisions of the 2015-16 state budget. The Assembly has already passed A7303a which we strongly support. We urge you to also pass companion legislation that will minimally:

* postpone implementation of new evaluation (APPR) requirements for one year (2016)
* assure that full 2015-16 state aid would be delivered to all schools
* assure the building principal’s role as instructional leader of his or her school by making an outside observer as an optional part of the evaluation process

To send this message to your legislators, click on the TAKE ACTION link below:

Williamsville CSD has lost approximately $32M by the NYS Gap Elimination Adjustment over the past five years.

I just signed a petition to The New York State House, The New York State Senate, and Governor Andrew Cuomo: In 2009 NYS faced a budget deficit which they decided to close using public school funds.
