With school beginning this week, drivers are reminded to use extra caution as students return to classrooms and school buses return to our roadways. 🚌🎒

Slow down and stay alert around school buses and bus stops. Children may be crossing the street or approaching a bus from areas that are difficult for drivers to see.

🛑 Remember: When a school bus displays flashing red lights and extends its stop arm, STOP. Never attempt to pass a stopped school bus when children are loading or unloading.

Give yourself a few extra minutes, put the phone down, and watch for students throughout our neighborhoods.

A safe school year starts with all of us.

A dog has been found in the area of 41 Eggers Street.

The dog will be transported to the Woodbridge Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center (195 Woodbridge Avenue, Sewaren, NJ) for safekeeping.

🚨 DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER 🚨

The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign begins August 19, and the East Brunswick Police Department will be participating in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJ DHTS).

While our officers are always on the lookout for impaired drivers, EBPD will have an extra focus on impaired driving enforcement as we work to keep our roadways safe as the summer comes to an end.

🍺 If you plan to drink, plan for a sober ride.
🚗 Designate a sober driver.
📱 Use a rideshare or taxi.
🔑 Never get behind the wheel impaired.

Impaired driving isn’t just dangerous to the person behind the wheel. It puts everyone sharing the road at risk.

If you see a suspected impaired driver, do not attempt to intervene yourself. When it is safe to do so, contact law enforcement and provide the vehicle’s location and description.

The East Brunswick Public Safety Emergency Communications Center is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of its program to achieve accreditation by verifying that it meets recognized professional best practices.

Administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP), the Communications Accreditation Program requires agencies to comply with best-practice standards in three core areas: management, operations, and analysis functions.

On September 14, 2026, between 10:00 and 11:00 am., agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 732-390-6823. Comments will be taken by an NJSACOP Assessor. Email comments can be sent to Communications Supervisor Frank Bottiglieri at [email protected].

The East Brunswick Police Department proudly honors the memory of Patrick Awosogba, who sadly passed away on February 22, 2015.

Today, Patrick’s classmate and close friend, Greg Sampson, along with the Awosogba family, hosted the 12th Annual Wiffleball Tournament in Patrick’s memory. The tournament raises funds for a scholarship awarded to a deserving East Brunswick High School student.

We are grateful to Greg, the Awosogba family, and everyone who continues to honor Patrick’s memory and legacy by supporting the students and community he called home.
