🚦 TRAFFIC SAFETY UPDATE 🚦

Heads up, East Orange! A new STOP sign has been installed at the intersection of South Harrison Street and Elmwood Avenue in both directions to help improve traffic safety for motorists, pedestrians, and our neighborhood residents.

As you travel through the area, please remember to:

🛑 Come to a complete stop
👀 Pay close attention to all traffic signs and markings
🚶 Watch for pedestrians crossing the street
🚗 Drive carefully and responsibly

These improvements are part of our ongoing commitment to making East Orange streets safer for everyone. Help us keep our community safe by slowing down, staying alert, and following all traffic signs!

Who says evacuation drills can’t be fun? 😄 EOPD School Resource Officer Benjamin Pasley kept the smiles coming with high-fives all around as students at Langston Hughes practiced their evacuation drill. Safety first, but a little encouragement goes a long way! 🙌🚓💙

Congratulations to the dedicated members of the East Orange Police Division who were recognized with the Guns, Gangs, and Drugs Law Enforcement Unit Award at the New Jersey Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association Annual Narcotic Investigation Networking Ceremony and Awards Luncheon held this week in Atlantic City.

Deputy Chief Raymond Garcia, Detective Joseph Boutsikaris, Detective Felix Cabrera, and Detective Segundo Marquez were presented with Outstanding Leadership Awards in recognition of their commitment, professionalism, and significant contributions to narcotics enforcement efforts throughout the region.

Their work represents the very best of law enforcement service — combining strategic investigations, collaboration, persistence, and a deep dedication to protecting the safety and well-being of our residents. Through their tireless efforts, these officers continue to play a critical role in disrupting illegal drug activity, strengthening public trust, and helping to create safer neighborhoods across our community.

This well-deserved recognition not only reflects their individual dedication and leadership, but also speaks to the high standards and excellence of the East Orange Police Division as a whole.

The City of East Orange proudly celebrates these outstanding officers for their service, sacrifice, and continued commitment to public safety.
