Thank you State Representative Tony Scott. It’s time to update the mandate requiring printed legal notices.

Thank you State Representative Tony Scott. It’s time to update the mandate requiring printed legal notices.

I proposed a bill this session to remove an unfunded mandate on our towns.

Municipal budgets are strained and my legislation, which passed the House today, looks to ease some of the burden from the state. This bill would allow municipalities to satisfy public legal notice mandates through municipal internet websites and online local newspapers in lieu of publication in a physical newspaper. The bill must still be voted on in the Senate. The legislative session ends on May 6.

Dangerous road conditions! Please stay off the roads! Snow has been piling up faster than can be managed and high winds are causing white out conditions and snow drifts to form. Once the storm ends it will take quite some time to clear the roads fully. Please stay home through the duration of the storm and do not venture out until it is safe to do so.
