We are a leader in providing education, employment, and residential opportunities to people with disabilities, and we are passionate about discovering and developing potential. EP!C is a community of families, staff, volunteers, and community members working together to support individuals with intellectual and developmental

Ignite Peoria is tomorrow!

We’re looking back at some of our favorite moments from past Ignite events, and we can’t wait to experience another incredible day celebrating creativity in our community.

Join us for local art, live performances, hands-on activities, makers, entertainment, and so much more. Be sure to stop by the EP!Casso booth to explore one-of-a-kind creations made by talented EP!C artists and take home a special piece of locally made art.

Ignite Peoria is free and family-friendly, so bring your friends and family and come spend the day getting creative, having fun, and supporting artists from throughout our community!

It’s hard to believe, but back-to-school season is already here!

As students prepare for a new school year, we’re highlighting the fall classes available through the EP!C Certificate Program in partnership with Illinois Central College. These courses help participants build practical knowledge, explore career interests, and earn recognized certificates.

Fall classes include:

Introduction to Construction and Manufacturing
Introduction to Healthcare
Self-Advocacy

Classes begin September 8 and are $150 per class. Registration is now open, so take the next step toward learning, growth, and new opportunities!

On the last day of we're sure by now you've seen Jimothy the racoon from Seattle with short spine syndrome that's going viral this month.

Being featured as memes, cartoons, merch, featured on news outlets across the country and even being added to Roku city display.

We love a short king and agree he's a disabled icon. It's great that attention is being made regarding differences and that people want to "protect Jimothy at all costs". We just wish people with disabilities were cared about by society with the same passion and excitement.

But we have to ask, do we really care about Jimothy or is he just a spectical because he's different, or strange or do we feel bad for him because of his condition?

We hope it's overwhelmingly due to compassionate people, that he lives a long and happy life and the viral fame doesn't go to his head.

EP!C things are happening!

If you've visited EP!C headquarters recently, you will have noticed we are near capacity with the current building.

After opening our first Behavioral Health Clinic (BHC) in 2021, we are excited to announce the opening of a second location COMING SOON to 1014 W Pioneer Parkway, Suite 100, in Peoria.

This expansion will create opportunities to support the community, outside of people already supported by EP!C.

EP!C's Behavioral Health program gives vital access to licensed professionals who focus specifically on the mental health needs of people with cognitive differences. In 2025, over 11,000 hours of in-house behavioral support were provided.

The new office space will also house EP!C's award-winning Job Placement team. Recognized multiple times as the area's best staffing agency for placing people in jobs in the community, this program matches individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to local businesses and organizations. In 2025, over 12,000 hours of career support were provided.

Thank you to the EP!C Foundation, whose vision and transformative support created this space where people are empowered and can thrive in their community.

As we navigate evolving systems, workforce pressures, and increasing complexity, this conference centers on building the clarity, resilience, and shared purpose needed to lead with confidence.

The Institute on Public Policy for People with Disabilities enables human service organizations like ours to improve the lives of adults living with intellectual & developmental disabilities and strengthen their networks of support.

We were excited to attend another Backpack Peoria with the Dream Center Peoria this past weekend.

Giving out an EP!C pencil or sticker won't change a life, but letting thousands of families know there are resources for all stages of life while getting kids excited to be in school is empowering, and when the community comes together, it's inspiring!

What an incredible day at the ADA WOW! Celebration and Resource Fair!

We were proud to come together with community members, organizations, advocates, families, and friends to celebrate the Americans with Disabilities Act and continue building a more accessible and inclusive community for everyone.

A huge thank you to the dedicated committee members who worked behind the scenes to make this event possible. Your time, creativity, and commitment helped create a meaningful and memorable celebration.

We would also like to thank CityLink Peoria for their support and partnership in helping make the event accessible to our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, connected with local resources, and celebrated inclusion with us. We are already looking forward to next year!
