The 2026 boating season is just around the corner!

The canoe/kayak racks are available by permit from May 1st thru October 31st. To ensure that you can keep the same rack space as last year, you must have your payment into the Township office no later than May 15th, 2026. After May 15th, all rack spaces will be given out on a first come, first serve basis. The fee for each rack space is $40 for Washington Township residents, $50 for non-residents. The winter storage for the 2026 season will be $30 for Washington Township residents and $40 for non-residents. The winter storage season is from November 1st ,2026 to April 30th ,2026. If you did not pay for winter storage, please be sure your canoe/kayak has been removed from the rack by November 15th, 2026. Please keep in mind that the park traditionally closes in late September or early October, depending on the weather. If you need to drive into the park to retrieve your boat/s you can make arrangements with the Township office to have a staff member open the gate.

If your boat is shorter than your rack, you are permitted to lay a ladder-type apparatus across to hold your boat on your rack. If you need to make additional modifications to your rack space, please obtain permission from Township Office. Please contact the Township Office if repairs to your rack are needed.

The Township reserves the right to remove problem, non-permitted, or abandoned boats from Township racks and assess removal/storage fees for boats not in compliance. We hope none of these measures become necessary and very much appreciate your cooperation.

We are accepting applications for 2 summer time (mid-May to mid-August), entry level, parks position. Must be 18 or older. Must be capable of handling riding mowers across bumpy terrain, operating a weed-wacker for extended periods of time, and similar landscaping duties.
