This page started as a source of information about the Edneyville Community Center but led to being about "all things Edneyville". Many years ago, a group of Edneyville residents gathered together with the dream of creating a Community Center where friends and neighbors could learn, spend time together and celebrate life events. They wanted it to be a place for everybody who lived in Edneyville to
enjoy and share with family and friends. Many in the group had lived in Edneyville their whole lives, some lived here for 80 or more years and their family members before them too. Some people had just moved here or had been here for a decade or two. The group joined together and worked very hard for many years raising money through annual BBQ's at The Bud Hyder Ranch, holding Bake Sales, raffles, silent auctions and even having a warehouse garage sale that went on more than a year! In a huge, dusty warehouse behind Griffin's store, people like the late Margaret Davidson and our friend Sam Palazzo went to the old warehouse every Saturday and collected, cleaned and displayed everything you could think of. From clothing and furniture to toys, Christmas decorations, bikes, live plants, canned goods and park benches. Sam, Margaret and many others went out even most winter weeks, with coats, mittens, scarves and an old kerosene heater to greet and serve customers that loaded items into their cars and trucks. The faithfulness, kindness and generosity of the members and friends of "The Edneyville Community Center Association" remains with us today as we enjoy what God has blessed us with, the beautiful grounds and building at 15 Ida Rogers Lane. Thanks to the people who cared and worked hard to give the next generations something to enjoy. The Edneyville Community Center Association still meets and works toward even more for Edneyville residents to enjoy tomorrow!
