In honor of another "Meet the Member Monday,” say hello to El Dorado Charities Auxiliary Board Member - Sage Eugene!!

“Atlanta will always be home, but after serving in the Navy, I found my way to El Dorado and have called this community home for the past three years. I am a Mental Health Advocate and Creative Director with CenterPeace Creations, where creativity and mental wellness come together in much of the work I do.

Though I’m one of the newest members of El Dorado Charities Auxiliary, joining just three months ago, I wanted the opportunity to lend a helping hand alongside those already working to make a difference in this community. I’m especially passionate about creating space for quiet self-reflection and encouraging conversations surrounding mental wellness.

Fun fact: I’m currently developing The Sage Paradox, a mental health podcast that takes a deeper look into niche topics within the mental wellness community and is set to release this fall!”

Today, our hearts are incredibly full. 💛

El Dorado Charities Auxiliary was blessed with the opportunity to provide emergency funding to another local Butler County family during an unimaginable season.

Shea and Scarlette Vanarsdale recently welcomed triplets into the world! Two of their sweet babies are now home with their six-year-old big brother, while one little one remains in the hospital, continuing to heal and grow stronger.

Splitting time between the hospital and home, caring for the children who are home, and being unable to work as usual creates an emotional and financial weight no family can truly prepare for. This is exactly why our emergency fund exists.

Today, EDCA was able to provide the Vanarsdale family with monetary assistance. Through the generosity and collaboration of Birthline, Branches, and IServe Facilities, we were also able to provide clothes, blankets, diapers, wipes, and connections to additional resources to support their journey from hospital to home. 🍼🤍

For those in our community who would like to bless this family even further, Shea and Scarlette have also provided their Venmo and Cash App information for anyone wishing to contribute directly. We will include their payment information with this post.

To everyone who attends our events, donates, sponsors, or supports our mission—this is what your generosity makes possible. It allows us to step in when a Butler County family needs their community most.

In honor of another "Meet the Member Monday,” say hello to El Dorado Charities Auxiliary Board Member - Lluvia Quintero!!

“My name is Lluvia and I am entering my fifth year as a board member for El Dorado Charities Auxiliary, a role I take great pride in. I joined this organization because I have personally received assistance during a weather disaster and have seen firsthand the profound impact that charitable organizations can make in someone’s life.

Professionally, I have spent much of my career working with and serving others, beginning in customer service when I was just 16 years old. For the past four years, I have continued that work in the insurance industry and currently serve our community as an insurance agent with Farmers Insurance. I truly love being part of something that allows me to connect with others and contribute to meaningful change.

On a personal note, I’m a mother of three beautiful girls. Fun fact: my name, Lluvia, means ‘rain’ in Spanish!”

45 Years of Giving… and We’re Still Growing. ❤️

This weekend, El Dorado Charities Auxiliary made a move that may seem small from the outside—but to us, it represents something much bigger.

After 45 years of serving our community, we officially cleaned out our longtime storage unit and moved into the next size up. And this move was very intentional—and very needed.

Over the years, we’ve acquired supplies, event décor, equipment, memorabilia, and pieces of our history. Moving gave us the opportunity to put our hands on everything, take inventory, organize what we need, and decide what we no longer use. Items we don’t need will be donated or sold—with proceeds going right back toward supporting our grant recipients and our mission.

But what struck me most while going through 45 years of “stuff” was realizing just how much this organization has grown.

Especially in the last two years.

Our ability to provide nonprofit support, respond to emergency funding needs, and put meaningful dollars back into organizations serving Butler County has soared. And that growth doesn’t happen because of one board, one event, or one person.

It happens because of YOU.

Every pub crawler.
Every gala attendee.
Every sponsor.
Every donor.
Every business that says yes.
Every person who buys a ticket, shares a post, donates an auction item, or simply tells someone else about our mission.

You are the reason our community impact continues to grow.

This has already been our most successful year yet—and our largest fundraising event of the year hasn’t even happened. ❤️

Our 45th Annual Gala: Havana Nights is coming October 10, and we’re excited to see just how much more we can accomplish together before 2026 is over.

“Though life has taken me to a few different places over the years, El Dorado has always felt like home and is where I eventually found my way back. I am currently in my second year with El Dorado Charities Auxiliary and have loved connecting with others who share a passion for serving our community.

Professionally, I work as an Account Service Manager for iServe Facilities and also own and operate Beyond the Basket Laundry Service. I joined El Dorado Charities because I believe strong communities are built by people who show up and help, and I’m passionate about supporting local families, encouraging small businesses, and creating opportunities that make El Dorado a great place to live, work, and raise a family.

Fun fact: I currently have 44 chickens and 10 grandchildren — life stays busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!”

💜 Community Support in Action 💜

Sometimes a need comes to us that reminds us exactly why the El Dorado Charities Auxiliary Emergency Grant Fund exists.

Recently, we had the opportunity to support a local mother and survivor of domestic violence who, due to circumstances completely outside of her control, was unable to access the usual community resources for back-to-school assistance.

At a time when the world already felt incredibly heavy, the added worry of making sure her children had what they needed to start school was one more weight she shouldn’t have had to carry alone.

Through our Emergency Grant Fund, we were able to step in and provide backpacks, school supplies, clothing, shoes, and other back-to-school essentials for her children. 🎒👟✏️

We may not be able to change everything this family is facing, but we were able to lift a little bit of that weight—and remind a mom in our community that she and her children are not alone.

This is what community looks like. It’s neighbors helping neighbors, meeting people where they are, and stepping in when traditional resources aren’t an option.

Sometimes an emergency grant is more than financial assistance. Sometimes it’s a little breathing room during one of the hardest chapters of someone’s life.
