We are a home for God’s most vulnerable children...
The primary ministry at Agape House Children’s Home is to be a Christian, family to children. We know that children without families are the most vulnerable people in the world. There are over 2,000 references in the Scripture that command us to care for God’s children without families. Our ministry was born from His command, and we have lovingly served our local foster children for the past three years by being that family to our kids.
As we walk alongside these children and ask ourselves how to continue to serve their lives, it is abundantly clear that the first question is where does their “child life” end, and their “adult life” begin. The answer is NOT at age 18. Our children who “age out” of foster care at 18 are being lost in the world. The world has always been a hard place. What helps all of us survive, and thrive in it, is family and faith, something the kids that initially step through our doors don’t have. In order for us to deliver these children into the world safely, we are building our second home on campus, the Hope House. This house is for children 16 to 23 years of age, and will be a Christian, family home just like our first home, the Alexander House. This home will have all the same family focus as our first home but will have a greater emphasis on life skill training, job readiness and college or trade education. We will be doing just what you do in your own home to prepare your children for successful lives as adults.
What we need from fellow Christians is your support to fulfill this command. We say it all the time, “you don’t have to open your home as a foster home to serve the foster community”. Being part of our Agape family means you can pray, mentor, tutor, volunteer, fundraise, etc. If you want to help but don’t know how, give us a call and we will help you find your place in our family and ministry.
