NASA's Johnson Space Center has a forward operating location in El Paso, Texas, at the El Paso International Airport. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has a contract with DynCorp International to perform depot level maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to their fleet of T-38 Talon trainer aircraft. NASA uses the T-38 as a jet trainer for its astronauts, as well as a chase plane. Its fleet is housed primarily at Ellington Field in Houston, Texas. The Aero Spacelines B-377-SGT Super Guppy is a large, wide-bodied cargo aircraft used for ferrying outsized cargo components. This aircraft is the last of its kind still remaining in service. It has most recently been used to ferry components for the International Space Station and Project Orion, as well as various other government cargo requirements. A modified Grumman Gulfstream II the STA was a training vehicle that duplicated the Space Shuttle's approach profile and handling qualities, allowing Space Shuttle pilots to simulate Shuttle landings under controlled conditions before attempting the task on board the orbiter. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER - Looking amazingly like a fish flying across the skies high above the Florida space coast, NASA’s unique Super Guppy aircraft loaded with the structural backbone for NASA’s next Orion crew module, swooped in for a landing at the Kennedy Space Center on Monday afternoon, Feb. 1. Pregnant Guppy Test Flight
