County Criminal Court #2 DWI/Drug Court Treatment and Intervention Program On November 3rd, 2004, the Honorable Judge R. Anchondo started the 1st DWI Court in Texas to help reduce recidivism among adult DWI offenders

To help reduce recidivism among adult DWI/Drug offenders in El Paso County, County Criminal Court at Law Number Two developed the DWI Drug Court Program. The program uses a multi-faceted approach whose objectives include: Reducing alcoholism and drug abuse and dependency among offenders; Mandatory alcohol/drug treatment for offenders; Reducing the overcrowding of prisons; Attendance of AA meetings or other support to reduce the groups on a regular basis: Completion of the assessed community service hours; Intense supervision by the DWI Team (Community Supervision Dept. and Surveillance officer): Random drug/alcohol testing.
