The 1st Armored Division Band held a change of responsibility ceremony Aug. 28, 2026, at Noel Field on Fort Bliss, Texas, marking the official transition of leadership within the formation.

We thank outgoing first sergeant 1st Sgt. Tony Tellez for his dedicated service and steadfast leadership. We also welcome 1st Sgt. Michael Jones as he assumes responsibility and leads the band forward in its mission to inspire, represent and strengthen the division through music. 🎺🎼

Division Top Tank Crew 🔥🪖

Executioner Troop’s E‑14 crew from 6th Squadron, 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division earned Division Top Tank with a score of 982, qualifying 10 out of 10 engagements and earning a Distinguished rating. 🏅

Crew: Sgt. 1st Class Duncan Klein • Staff Sgt. Michael Salas • Sgt. Danny Zepeda • Pfc. Gib Gleason

Klein said the crew’s success came from mastering the basics — hours in the simulator, disciplined maintenance and learning to operate together with minimal direction. Their performance reflects the readiness and lethality across Executioner Troop and the Division.

Meet Cpl. Caleb Douglas, a Bradley gunner with Cutlass Company, 4th Battalion, 70th Armor Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division — and the Division’s newest Hero of the Brigade and Brigade Top Gun.

Douglas says the best part of being a gunner is the camaraderie built through tough training with his crew. That teamwork showed during gunnery, where Douglas, Driver Pfc. Kenneth Ross and Track Commander Staff Sgt. William Wallace earned a 987/1000 and went 10/10 on engagements.

He credits disciplined training, aggressive maintenance and their face‑paint ritual for keeping the crew locked in. For Douglas, success comes down to skill, preparation and being ready when called.

Iron Dragon Olympics 2026 🏆

U.S. Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Armored Division, competed in the Iron Dragon Olympics at Fort Bliss, Texas — a week‑long fitness competition featuring a 5K run, a 2‑mile water can carry, an aircraft tow system pull, a six‑exercise circuit, and an ultimate flying disc tournament.
