Hispanic Heritage Month Podcast
As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, we share with you our podcast with guests of Hispanic backgrounds, sharing their stories and their service to our nation.
According to the U.S. Army Center of Military History, Hispanics were not identified as an ethnicity on military records until the Vietnam War— so the exact number who served during WWII is unknown— however, unofficial estimates range between 400,000 and 500,000.

Happy 245th Birthday, U.S. Army!
A message from the WBAMC Command Team:
June 14th, 2020 is the Army’s birthday, and marks 245 years of bravery and commitment while protecting the American people and our nation. Normally we have traditional events, but the COVID-19 pandemic has caused us to change the manner in which we celebrate our Army Heritage. At the same time, it has also has provided other opportunities for our Soldiers, Civilians, and their families to further display their loyalty, adaptability, and resilience.
This year’s Army Birthday theme, “Our People: When we are needed, we are there!” highlights the accomplishments of Army personnel who answer the call to serve. CSM Ray and I have seen countless examples throughout William Beaumont of how our Soldiers and civilians have truly stepped up to the plate. They have been on the frontlines combatting this deadly pandemic here at home, while other teammates are deployed overseas and are combatting not only the pandemic, but the enemies of our Nation. No matter the challenges we face as a team, we stand ready to protect the force and maintain operational readiness.
During this Army’s Birthday, let’s celebrate the Army and the accomplishments of our teammates who stepped forward to act when the nation needed them.
Happy 245th Birthday! Army Strong!
