Good morning from Terlingua! ☀️
Texas Department of Transportation Presidio/Terlingua Maintenance Supervisor Carlos Mendoza captured this video of Terlingua Creek flowing full after a night of heavy storms. He says he hasn’t seen it like this in years. The creek runs right next to our Terlingua TxDOT office.👇🏼

“The impact killed my dad and brother instantly.”

Drinking and driving can take away a lot more than your freedom. You could hurt yourself or take away someone’s loved one because you chose to get behind the wheel after drinking. Always get a sober ride.

Texans treat the things we treasure with care and respect. Whether you’re grabbing a pecan pie from the bakery or picking the kids up from school, double-check to make sure everyone (and everything) is safely secured.

Buckle up. It’s the Texan thing to do.

Everyone knows Texas is full of unique and historic sites, but one stop in Rusk County is a literal throne from the past. It might not be as pristine as the facilities at Buc-ee’s, but in its day, it got the job done.

Don’t be a crash test dummy — grandma knows best! Buckle up for yourself and your family. Every rider, every ride. Some people think an airbag is enough protection, but airbags are meant to work with seat belts, not replace them. Excuses won’t save you from a crash or a ticket.

05/30/2025

Congratulations, graduates! Getting a sober ride doesn’t have to be difficult—call a rideshare or a sober friend or family member, or designate a driver before you start drinking. Remember, drunk driving crashes are 100% preventable.
