Last week, Atlas Senior Leaders got together to welcome new members to our Battalion, post deployment, and wish farewell to the ones going to their next mission. Many laughs and stories were shared!

We also took a moment to recognize CPT Rothblatt with Order of St. Christopher, an award presented to outstanding Transportation Officers. Well done, CPT Rothblatt!

General information

The proud history of the 142d Combat Sustainment Support Battalion began on 13 January 1944, when the unit was constituted as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 142d Quartermaster Battalion, Mobile. Activated 31 January 1944, at Camp Butner, North Carolina. Reorganized and redesignated 1 September 1946 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 142d Quartermaster Battalion. It was then allotted to the Regular Army 8 December 1950. On 15 December 1962, it was reorganized as the 142d Quartermaster Battalion (Direct Support). The unit was inactivated 1 October 1964 at Pusan, Korea and reactivated and redesignated 16 March 1981 at Wiesbaden, Germany as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 142d Supply and Service Battalion. It was finally reorganized and redesignated on 25 January 1993 to its current designation as 142d Corps Support Battalion. Following the attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon on September 11, 2001, the unit immediately became actively engaged in the war on terror, deploying Soldiers to Afghanistan in support of the 82d Airborne Division during Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2003, the unit deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom I, supporting units such as the 3rd Corps Support Command and 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. In 2005 it deployed again to Iraq, supporting the 3rd Corps Support Command and 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment. Since the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom, the unit has continuously had a guidon deployed in support of the War on Terror or peacekeeping missions across the globe.

Good Evening Facebook Friends, I need your help! I am the New Facilitator for the El Paso Chapter of Hearts of Valor, we started this Chapter a few months ago. Hearts of Valor is a network of people caring for wounded, ill or injured service members, created and maintained by Operation Homefront. Operation Homefront seeks to support these caregivers in their own journey of healing by facilitating an online community that provides social connections to other caregivers in similar situations, fostering support groups by geographic area to encourage resource sharing and friendships, and sponsoring annual retreats to provide education on relevant issues. I want to make sure our El Paso, Fort Bliss and Las Cruces Area Caregivers know, there is support. Please go to the link below to read the eligibility requirements and register! Please share with all your networks! If you have questions, feel free to contact me at [email protected]
